PrepBook ("the app", "we", "us") is developed and operated by Karim Ruiz Stifine. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information when you use PrepBook.

1. Information We Collect

When you use PrepBook, we collect the following information:

• Account information: your email address and encrypted password, used to authenticate your account.
• Restaurant information: the name of your restaurant and your preferred language settings.
• Content you create: recipes, ingredients, preparation steps, and plating photos that you upload to the app.
• Device information: basic information about the device used to access the app (operating system, browser type) for technical support purposes.
• Marketing source: which campaign or link brought you to PrepBook (the campaign parameters of the link, the website you came from and the first page you opened). It is kept in your browser and stored with your account when you register, only to understand which channels work. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information exclusively to provide the PrepBook service:

• To authenticate your account and keep your data secure.
• To store and display your recipes, ingredients and plating content.
• To provide automatic translation of recipe content into your selected languages.
• To sync your data across devices used by your kitchen team.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling or any purpose other than providing the PrepBook service.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on servers operated by Supabase, located in Stockholm, Sweden (European Union). All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Passwords are never stored in plain text.

Photos you upload are stored in Supabase Storage and are only accessible to authenticated users of your restaurant account.

4. Third-Party Services

PrepBook uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase (supabase.com) — database, authentication and file storage. Data is stored in the EU (Stockholm, Sweden). Supabase Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic Claude API (anthropic.com) — used to automatically translate recipe content into your selected languages. Only the text of recipes and ingredients is sent for translation — no personal account information is shared. Anthropic Privacy Policy.
• Vercel (vercel.com) — used to host the PrepBook web application. Vercel Privacy Policy.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties, except as described in Section 4 (third-party services required to operate the app) or as required by applicable law.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at the email address below. We will process your request within 30 days.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access: you can request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification: you can request correction of inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure: you can request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Right to data portability: you can request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Right to object: you can object to certain processing of your data.

8. Children's Privacy

PrepBook is intended for professional use in restaurant kitchens. The app is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Cameras and Photos

PrepBook requests access to your device's camera and photo library solely to allow you to upload plating photos. These photos are stored in your restaurant account and are not shared with any third party other than as described in Section 4.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
